Global Power & Gas Company, E.ON, Selects Allegro Horizon to Empower Customer Solution Business
LONDON, UK, February 9, 2016 – Allegro Development Corporation, a leading provider of commodity management software, announced today that E.ON has selected Allegro Horizon to support the management and growth of its sales and renewables business.
In response to a fundamentally changed market environment, E.ON has defined a new strategic direction. It will be focused on the new energy world and become an energy solutions provider addressing the retail customers’ changing needs; the global demand for renewables, particularly wind and solar, and the evolution of distribution networks into a platform for ¬distributed-energy solutions.
As E.ON implements its new strategy, Allegro Horizon will be deployed for increased efficiencies in energy procurement, portfolio hedging and risk management with scalability for growth to quickly identify and capture emerging market opportunities. After evaluating several market leading commodity management providers, Allegro was ultimately selected based on its out-of-the-box functional fit and business process support; its architectural consistency and cloud readiness; and its proven ability to implement in relevant markets with scalability for growth.
“We are thrilled that E.ON selected Allegro as their trusted advisor to navigate through this business model transition to a renewables-focused trading environment,” said Jonathan English, Managing Director EMEA and APAC, Allegro. “Allegro Horizon provides E.ON the flexibility required to adapt with market change, pin point emerging opportunities and mitigate risk for better bottom line results.”
E.ON is an international privately-owned energy supplier which faces fundamental change: through implementing its new strategy, E.ON will in future be focusing entirely on renewables, energy networks and customer solutions, which are the building blocks of the new energy world. The conventional generation and energy trading businesses were combined into a distinct company, Uniper, as per 1st January, 2016. E.ON plans to spin off the majority of Uniper to E.ON’s shareholders in the second half of 2016.
